Home has never been so vital

Everyone in Ireland is trying to remain safe at home during this pandemic. But as job losses continue to rise, many are facing the terrifying prospect of losing their home.

Threshold’s frontline specialist housing advisors are working harder than ever to protect families from becoming homeless.

Every day they speak to families who, for the first time ever, are afraid of losing their beloved home.

Every day there's still more calls to answer, more homes to save.

Everyone needs a safe place to rest their head

That’s why Threshold has asked Ireland’s best writers, actors and entertainers to contribute a special bedtime story, to be enjoyed by you.

For a simple donation to Threshold, you can hear a selection of magical bedtime stories – and help someone keep their safe place to rest their head.

Delve right in and hear stories and poems of all kinds, for children and adults alike. Favourites from Frank O’Connor, poems from Patrick Kavanagh, oral tales from the Travelling Community and well-loved Irish folk tales. There’s stories in English and Irish, something for everyone.

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin...

"Because everyone deserves a safe place to rest their head at bedtime..."

"In these times of all times, the work of organisations like Threshold is vitally important and I am honoured to be asked to help out in this small way and lend my voice in support of their advocacy and support for tenants’ rights."

Dermot Bolger

About Threshold

Bedtime Stories is brought to you by Threshold, the national housing charity. After more than 40 years, Threshold is still fighting for the most vulnerable – people and families who are losing the entire foundation of their lives – their home.

Threshold is truly a frontline service – people’s first port of call if they are losing their home. Once a person or family falls into homelessness, it’s a frightening spiral that is incredibly difficult to break out of.

So we act before that happens. We prevent. We support. We keep people in the homes they already have.

That’s what makes Threshold unique in Ireland - we stop homelessness.

Threshold is proud to partner with Children's Books Ireland and Laureate na nÓg to bring you Bedtime Stories.
